A Framework for Police Refinement
Overwhelmingly, police leaders desire high levels of trust, accountability, and performance within all segments of their departments, and without exception they need to effect positive and meaningful change within their agencies and their communities.
Building Trust and Positive Change in your Agency and Community is a four-hour training course that begins by providing police leaders with a solid and deep understanding of how police organizations can generate high levels of trust. This includes a framework for initiating and nurturing trust within their police agencies and the communities they serve. The course concludes with an explanation of the seven-step change model or “pathway” to follow for facilitating positive change within those groups.
Phase one of the training will deliver a deep understanding of the essential elements of trust in policing:
- The role of trust in law enforcement leadership and their communities through the concepts of Extreme Accountability, Transparency and Legitimacy
- The foundations of trust and components of police credibility – Character and Competence
- The core leadership behaviors that can either enhance or derail trust in law enforcement
- Understanding the waves of trust and how they relate to high-performing police agencies and communities
- The impact and speed of highly trusted police organizations and teams
- Intrinsic motivators that build trust and lead to efficient and progressive police change
